Nissan introduces “reserve now” function for online used cars

In partnership with Modix, the tool is part of the its used vehicle locator, a plug-in to the Nissan website that allows consumers to search local and national used car stock from across the manufacturer’s retail network.

Consumers can browse over 9,000 used cars, check monthly repayment figures, get their finance pre-approved and reserve a vehicle of their choice for a down-payment of just £250 before arranging to collect it from the dealer.

The system allows that used car customers to buy a car from home.

Matt Duncan, used car manager at Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd, said: “This new functionality is a great example of how Nissan listens to its customers and tailors its offer to suit their needs.”

“The first customer bought a car using the new tool within just a few hours of it going live on the site, which proves just how much potential it has.”

Darren Sinclair, chief customer officer for Modix, added: “We know that consumer expectations are changing, and research published in the 2019 Cox Automotive Insight Report revealed that car retailers are extremely focused on offering online transaction capability.”

“This tool helps to fulfil that need, giving consumers a simple, efficient way of reserving a used Nissan wherever they are, so all that’s left to do is visit the dealership to collect it.”
